What is one piece of advice you would give a bride for her eyebrows six months out of her wedding?

Be consistent! If the bride hasn’t been having regular appointments and not much direction with the shape they are wanting to achieve then I would say having a 6 month plan for your brows makes all the difference so we can have 6 brow appointments spacing them out 4 weeks apart until a week before the big day! Regular shape and tints will give us time to grow in any patches that are missing and to create the perfect brow colour and shape for their skin tone and face shape.

What is skin lift? And what is a piece of advice you would give a bride if God forbid she had skin lift the week of her wedding?

Understand your skincare and skin treatments! Skin lift is when the wax has grabbed onto more then just the hair, waxing exfoliates the skin while also removing hairs so if a client has sensitive skin using retinol, vitamin A, accutane, has eczema or any sunburn, then wax should never be applied to the skin. Most brides are usually making extra facial appointments and using stronger products so the skin is looking extra glowy! So understanding your skin and products is super important for your brow artist. A good brow artist will always ask if you are using these products and can feel the skin to determine whether or not the skin is too sensitive to wax before continuing with your brows. There are a few other options other then waxing for eg: threading, tweezing only or using a small blade to remove any fine fluffy hairs ( for professionals only, do not try this at home) if you are very unlucky and skin lift occurs then first things first. Do. Not . Panic! Use bepathen or paw paw on the lifted area every 2-3 hours . Do not let it dry out and do not put make up on the area keeping it moist will help and should be healed within 3-4 days. Always have your brows done 1 week before any big event.

What do you find is currently the biggest trend with browse? Is low maintenance brows here to stay?

We are seeing that a lot more clients are wanting to embrace their natural brows with just a little bit more definition, a dye that will pick up on any gaps and less trimming so there is a more fluffy bushier brow effect but with out it looking like an electric shock! Low maintenance brows may stick around as long as its not skinny tadpole 90s brows then we are good!

What was your brow prep like for your wedding? From the brow artist herself! (Also did you do your own brows on your wedding morning?)

It's funny because every one thinks because I do brows all day every day I must have a good routine. This is absolutely not the case! I think I’ve done my brows maybe 3 times this year! I am very fortunate that I have a lot of brow to go around so its like they have grown out to their full capacity. I only ever have to take away the strays. I wanted my brows to look natural and full for my wedding day so a week before my wedding I got one of my staff members to very slightly tidy them up, a little bit of tweezing and wax the mono, I was good to go! The morning of I had full faith in my make up artist and as I do not have much to fill in we just brushed through a little bit of brow gel.Very low maintenance in the brow department.

How many days out of the wedding would you recommend a brow lamination?

7 days is ideal and keeping them hydrated with paw paw or coconut oil will help them stay in great condition.

Can you get eyelash extensions on top of a lash lift?

I wouldn’t recommend getting a lash lift if you are wanting lash extensions. I would choose one or the other as the lift will curl your lash upwards and adding an extension to that makes them sit to high causing them to hit your eyelid, this can look messy. If you have long thick lashes I would recommend a lash lift and once mascara is applied the lashes look fuller thicker and much longer. If you are wanting to add fullness to your lashes then I would recommend adding a classic set of lash extensions 4-7 days before the wedding ,alternatively your make up artist can add a few false Lashes which always look fab!
